Sneak peak of Mt. Katahdin

Unbeknownst to Joe, I just got back from a long weekend vacation in Maine where I went to Boothbay Harbor and then up to Southwest and Bar Harbors in Acadia National Park. There’s a loop road there that takes you to the top of Cadillac Mountain where you have a 360° view of the Maine coastline, and if you look north, you can see Mt. Katahdin way way off in the distance. So Joe, your final destination has been spotted. The mountain is there…awaiting your arrival!

Joe, I was on the phone last night with a backpacking buddy of mine from Michgan who often reads the web posts of AT thru-hikers. He told me that he had found the best diary so far, written a guy named Joe Liles. Not only is Joe a very good writer, but apparently he attracts synchronicities, which I guess is what you thru-hikers call “trail magic.” I was so proud to be able to say, “I know Joe!”

Wishing you the best of luck as you chug through New Hampshire. Bercedis
